Christmas Lights in Scottsdale
If you’re in the mood for a little holiday cheer, visit Scottsdale during the holiday season for a tour of Christmas lights. There are several events happening in Scottsdale, including the Scottsdale Santa Crawl, Winter Wonderland Arizona, and Illumination. These events will have you in the holiday spirit all season long!
Winter Wonderland Arizona
Every December, the city of Phoenix hosts Winter Wonderland Arizona, a free, family-friendly holiday celebration. This spectacular event features dazzling displays of lights, snowfall, bubbles, and more! Guests can also enjoy activities such as face painting and shopping. While you’re there, be sure to visit the Ice Princess & Prince show and the Snowflake Dance.
Throughout December, thousands of lights dance to holiday music. The holiday season is a wonderful time to get into the Christmas spirit and spend time with family and friends. You can visit the display daily from 6 to 10 p.m. until December 31. You’re sure to make the event a family tradition!
The show is spectacular and free, and features over 250,000 Christmas lights. You’ll also see scenes from Frozen and the Island of Misfit Toys. This show has won awards and has been running for 30 years. The show is held at the Birkett residence at 814 E. Valley Vista Drive in Scottsdale. Parking is available nearby at Granite Reef.
Fairmont Scottsdale Princess transforms into a winter wonderland each year. Guests can enjoy the Princess Express Train, which travels through the spectacular Lagoon Lights display, or sledding on Snow Mountain. Illumination
If you love to see beautiful lights at Christmas, you’ll enjoy the Illumination of Christmas lights in Scottsdale. This annual event, now in its third decade, invites neighborhood groups, businesses, and families to participate. In addition to the dazzling display of lights, you’ll also be treated to a free, delicious hot cocoa.
The 36th annual display will run from December 6, 2022, to January 2, 2023. During the event, Scottsdale is transformed into “Scottsdazzle.” Visitors are encouraged to dress in tinsel and enjoy festive food. There’s even an annual Segway tour, which includes stops for warm cider and festive dining. In addition, the Desert Botanical Garden puts on a beautiful light show, a Southwestern tradition.
The Illumination of Christmas lights in Scottsdale features over 35,000 lights and a 20-foot lit tree. The display is synchronized to over 15 holiday songs. The street name of Scottsdale’s Lightfest is “Christmas Street,” and there’s also a petting zoo for the kids to enjoy.
There’s also an animated light show, World of Illumination. It’s the largest drive-through light show in the country, with millions of colored lights choreographed to holiday music. The show is 25 minutes long and includes a 26-foot-tall snowman and a 500-foot-long super tunnel. It’s a beautiful experience for families and kids alike, and tickets are available online.
Scottsdale Santa Crawl

There’s also a huge maze in the park, and it’s filled with holiday lights and Christmas music. Santa is expected to make an appearance at the Old Town Scottsdale Farmer’s Market, where kids can write a letter to Santa with a wish list of what they want for Christmas. Santa will take a photo with each child, and send a response letter to the child before Christmas.
The holiday celebration is a fun-filled family event. The city’s signature “Sing-Along and Tree Lighting Ceremony” kicks off the festivities. There are also live musical performances, holiday decorations, and a 40-foot illuminated Scottsdazzle Tree.
