The city of Columbus will soon be lit up with holiday spirit. Christmas lights will appear throughout the city over the weekend and next week. Check out the calendar for events taking place at different locations. This is the most popular time of year to enjoy Christmas lights and other holiday-themed activities.

Clifton Mill

The Christmas lighting at Clifton Mill is one of the Midwest’s most spectacular displays. It features over 4 million lights and an animated miniature village. It also has a Santa Claus Museum and Toy Collection. You can meet Santa and enjoy the show. It’s open nightly from November 26 through December 30.

This beautiful lighting display began in 1987. It was inspired by a concept to string lights along the historic mill. Today, the mill is one of the largest water-powered grist mills in existence. The Clifton Mill Christmas Lighting display runs until Dec. 30 and is a great way to spend an evening in the city.

Columbus is also home to a beautiful light display, which spans the city’s Commons, Lazarus Building, and Scioto Mile. The State Auto Downtown Nativity Scene is also lit during the season and tells the Christmas story. This has become a beloved tradition in the city. A special performance by the Columbus Children’s Choir is also included.

Flying Horse Farms

The annual Flying Horse Farms Christmas lighting in Columbus is a festive, horticultural experience, and guests are encouraged to wear face masks. Thousands of lights illuminate the Scioto Mile and turn the city into a winter wonderland at dusk. The event is free, and the public is invited. The lights will be turned on for about an hour each evening from November 24 through January 2.

The event is free and takes place daily from 5:00pm until 10pm. More than 400,000 LED lights will adorn the grounds. Visitors can enjoy the holiday horticulture, and take rides on the carousel or Polar Bear Express. If you have kids in tow, there is live entertainment in the area as well.

This holiday tradition offers free admission and an animated light show. The lights are synchronized to music so that it will seem like a magical wonderland. There is also a seasonal drive-through light display. The Flying Horse Farms Dazzling Christmas Light show will have ninety thousand lights dancing to music.

Another tree lighting ceremony is held in Worthington. This event is free and features live entertainment and a chance to meet Santa Claus. The event will also feature ice sculptures and carriage rides. During the lighting ceremony, the Children’s Choir will perform. This year, the tree lighting ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Market Square. Guests can take pictures with Santa, and enjoy live entertainment, horse and carriage rides, and music.

One of the most beloved holiday traditions in Central Ohio is Wildlights. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks while inside the illuminated buildings. While the festival is free, donations are accepted at the farm. During the holiday season, the Flying Horse Farms will remain open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Conservatory Aglow

Conservatory Aglow is a festive event that takes place during the holiday season at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus, Ohio. Visitors can enjoy the Christmas light show and exotic plant collections in this horticultural institution. The Conservatory also hosts special exhibits and Dale Chihuly artwork throughout the year.

The conservatory is decorated with thousands of twinkling lights and features a musical light show and a rainbow tunnel. There will also be a disco-themed dance party and a musical light show. The Conservatory will be lit with over 1,400 multicolored blown-glass ornaments and will be filled with dancing LED hula hoopers.
