Christmas Lights in Indianapolis

When planning a trip to Indianapolis during the holiday season, there are several places that you can visit that feature Christmas lights. Previously, these displays were limited to the Indianapolis zip code, but these days they’re all over, including the Wabash Valley. There’s a website that you can use to find displays in your area.

Winterlights

From November 18 through January 6, Winterlights at Newfields features a million bulbs that create a holiday wonderland. The grounds include a forest, field and gardens. You’ll feel like you’re walking in a winter wonderland while taking in this amazing light show. Visitors can walk through a winter wonderland through the park, and enjoy the song “Walking in a Winter Wonderland.”

Tickets to the Indiana Winterlights exhibit are $29 per adult, $22 for members, and $15 for youth. Children five and under enter free with a paid adult. Families with an Indiana Access Pass pay an additional $2 per person. Tickets include a goodie bag with blinky lights, holographic glasses, and a gingerbread snack.

For the fifth consecutive year, Winterlights transforms the grounds of Newfields into an enchanting winter wonderland. The festival includes several attractions including the Landscape of Light on Lilly Allee, the Ice Storm Walk, and Huckleberry Funk’s projection-mapped rock show. Visitors can also take a tour of the former home of the pharmaceutical company founder Eli Lilly.

Winterlights will be back at Newfields for its sixth year, from November 19 to January 8, 2023. It will feature 1.5 million Christmas lights and an all-outdoor walking experience. Old favorites like the Landscape of Light on Lilly Alley and the Ice Storm Walk in Garden for All Ages will return this year as well as new attractions.

If you’re looking for parking, the Newfields complex offers an underground parking lot for guests. Parking in this lot is free during Winterlights.

Holiday light show synchronized to music

The Holiday Lights of Indiana, a 2-mile drive through millions of LED lights, is synchronized to holiday music. The lights flash and dance with a variety of music, including contemporary and traditional Christmas music. Visitors are able to see dancing candy canes, tunnels of lights, and more. The lights are also controlled by a radio dial that guests tune to a dedicated signal.

The largest synchronized holiday light show in the city is located in Indianapolis. You can watch it with your family for a fee of $7 per person, with a maximum limit of $30 per carload. The show is put on by Triton Light Shows and features synchronized music.

If you want to see this special holiday light show, you can head to the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. The show is scheduled to begin on Nov. 11 and continue through New Year’s Day 2023. Tickets are required, and there is a limited number of tickets for each night. There is no refund policy, but you can exchange your tickets. Lilly Family Playhouse

The Lilly Family Playhouse will be filled with Christmas lights and holiday music as part of the annual Winterlights celebration at Newfields. The historic Lilly House will be lit up with dazzling decorations and beautiful floral displays. In addition, the Playtime in Indy show is back at Lilly House, now housed in its new location surrounded by giant Whimsy Trees. Wilstem Winter Light Show

Visitors to the Wilstem Wildlife Park can take a drive-through safari or cabin rental and experience wildlife up close. For the adventurous, the park also offers zipline adventures and animal encounters. The park is located in Paoli, IN. During the winter, the park lights up for the Wilstem Winter Light Show.
