CURB APPEAL IN WINTER
Decorate With Firefighters Christmas Lights
If you want to make your house look like a firehouse this holiday season, use firefighter christmas lights. Putting up these lights is easy, and the lighting is getting more affordable, which makes it even easier to rotate them out. If you have any questions about the safety of your lights, you can take them to a fire department for a safety inspection.

A fire station in Idaho is getting festive with its firefighter sleigh Christmas lights. It has more than 8,000 lights and two speakers on the front bumper. The lights were put up on Thanksgiving Day by firefighters Justin Sims, Cody Hercamp and Andrew Chapple. The fire station is located next to Albertsons and has more than 100 firefighters.
The fire department focuses on delivering presents to the needy during the holiday season. It is a tradition that started with Santa’s Sleigh in 1995. Last year, the pandemic forced the event to be reimagined, but the crew has come up with a new plan to give people the chance to see Santa’s sleigh. The fire station in Bayview will host three nights of the event.
Fire departments are also decking out their rigs for the holidays. Some choose to keep their decorations subtle and understated, while others go all-out. One fire department, the Eastside Fire and Rescue, teamed up with IAFF Local 2878, is known for decking out its engine with a sleigh decorated with lights, Santa Claus and music. The engine, which leads through several neighborhoods in the Sno-Valley, collects unwrapped toys, food and other donations for the local food bank.
Fire truck christmas lights
During the holiday season, it’s not unusual to find fire trucks decked out in Christmas lights. In Champlain Islands, Vermont, for instance, decorated emergency vehicles were a highlight of the holiday parade. Some people enjoyed seeing these vehicles from their driveways, and other people admired them from a distance at public locations, like school parking lots. Even a heavy-duty tow truck was decked out with lights.
Whether you want to deck out your fire engine, or simply want to make a special display for your family, you can find firefighter Christmas lights and decorations online. You can also get creative and make your own decorations with firefighter decals and hand-drawn designs. The NFPA has a website where you can find holiday safety tips and holiday decorating ideas.
The Zoneton Fire Department took advantage of the holiday season to decorate their fire truck. They put up around 80,000 holiday lights and festive decorations on the vehicle. The truck was decorated for two weeks, and residents of the neighborhood were eager to take pictures with it. There was even Santa on board! This was a fantastic way to celebrate the season with the whole family.
Aside from the lights on the fire truck, many other departments deck out their rigs with Christmas cheer. Some go as subtle as possible, while others go all out. The Waco fire department, for example, partners with the non-profit organization HopeLink of Sno-Valley to decorate their fire engine. Along with the lights, they play music and Santa Claus in a Christmas theme, and lead through the city collecting unwrapped toys and food for needy children.

You can also choose multicolored lights or color-changing LEDs to add a touch of bling.
While you’re looking for Christmas lights, you can also check out the decorations at San Francisco fire stations. During the 1940s and 1950s, San Francisco firefighters competed with each other in holiday decorating contests. Now, the competition is back with over twenty fire stations taking part in the competition. The winning station will receive a donation to a local charity.
