Modern Beach House Designs Showcase Advanced Architectural Styles

This ocean front property in Lima, Peru, personifies beach living. It’s positioned on a cliff facing the Pacific Ocean and the site on which it stands has a rugged and uneven topography. Designed by Giovanni Schettini Architectos, this area. 
This design approach makes it easy for the house to blend in with the other neighboring structures and to look natural and at home in this context. 
What makes this beach house stand out compared to many others is the fact it’s surrounded by lots of greenery and vegetation and this detail is reflected in the building’s design, more specifically its green roof. 
The architects made sure to include plenty of beautiful outdoor areas which can be enjoyed throughout the day, like a big al fresco dining area with a bbq station and a nice open deck with a hot tub.

This type of placement and orientation allowed the house to retain a nice level of privacy but also meant the views were a bit obstructed. To make up for this the architects included a rooftop terrace into the design.
Located in New Zealand and designed by Herbst Architects captures the beach house aesthetic. Intended as a holiday home, it’s also used as a summer retreat destination.

Located in Southampton, New York, and designed by Naiztat + Ham Architects, this beach house features a floor to ceiling glass wall. The exterior design makes the outdoor environment more accessible.
The open setting allows inhabitants to enjoy the surrounding landscape.

Located in Non-Nuoc Beach in Vietnam and designed by MIA Design Studio, this modern beach house combines modern and classic architectural styles. The tropical landscape and plenty of greenery around it and the ocean just a few meters away. 

Marina Lancheros Beach House

That allows the house to look natural in its surroundings and to integrate well with the area around it but it also allows it to have a fresh and modern aesthetic focused on comfort and convenience. 

As expected, one of the main objectives was to give each and every area of the house a great view. In response to that, the architects came up with a tiered design which structures the house on six levels starting from the street level at the top and going down to the pier. 


Designed by Longhi Architects, this modern beach dwelling features sharp lines and clean architecture. Located in Peru’s Pucusana District, this multi-storied oceanfront beach shack is a modern-day oasis.   

Camano Island Beach House

“Between the amount of time that’s involved and the amount of time you have for mitigation efforts—among the many things you should worry about in your life, this isn’t it,” 
This way each floor has an unobstructed view towards the ocean and also allows the various functions to be spread out and organized in a more independent way. 

A modern beach house is a strange paradise, but it’s not until you arrive when you realize how unique it is. A beach house is where you can take your time and settle down. Enjoy a swim in the saltwater ocean. The calm atmosphere of modern beach houses gives you time to think about the things you’ve left behind. 

This is an aesthetic that’s common to this area and the house stands out from this perspective. 
This example is not as open toward the ocean, and is positioned a towards the back of the property. The trees and vegetation act as a shallow barrier between the house and the water.
The design is inspired by the beach cottages for this area but with a more modern and amplified aesthetic overall. This was a project by studio Cibinel Architecture.

Naman Residence

Located in the small town of Carpinteria, California, the “Sanctuary at Loon Point,” is valued at 0 million. The home sits above the Pacific Ocean on a 22-acre estate.
Location will determine the savings or expenses accumulated by solar panels. The average price of a solar panel in California is .73 per watt. A 5-kW system would cost about ,000, and that’s with the federal solar tax credit. The money you save will depend on local electricity rates.


The remote location was a challenge for the designers. The architects had to deal with certain restrictions such as the fact that there was no way of bringing heavy equipment on-site or for concrete trucks to reach this area. 

This house takes the place of a small coastal cabin that used to sit on this property on Camano Island, in Washington. The owners wanted an upgrade so they decided to get rid of the cabin and to replace it with something bigger and more modern. They worked with studio Designs Northwest Architects to make this dream come true. 


The beach destination features pivoting windows and panels. Interior spaces look and feel bigger as the windows bring the outdoors indoors. Other parts of the house are meant to look and feel intimate.
